¿Question #4282?
Randy Cox: Do you prefer games where everyone needs to sit close together (ie, around the board) or where everyone can sit wherever they like around the room?

Volstag: The former
gnatdbug: I have a large space bubble, so don't sit so close to me.
monskers: I want to sit on the couch, I don't care where anyone else sits.
Spirit of 70: The former.
Caerid: I like the board games.
pwilz: Sitting wherever you want has its merits, but most of the best games are played sitting around a table.
weed131: close to the board
Felimid: The former.
Woelf: I prefer having everyone sitting close around the table. They're much less likely to be distracted by other things* that way. *(TV, phones, non-playing bystanders, etc.)
ricardofo: no difference to me
darius241: Close together. Easier interaction/sharing of duties.
CptRavage: ooh, space sounds good. People freak me out. Unless... okay, never mind.
ZeroZilla: The kinds of games I play are all 'close together' ones... but I enjoy 'around the room' games. I just don't play them often, or seek them out.
gmcash: around the board
ArtEmiSa64: Like both but for different kind of reunion
Geosmores: Sit together
MotUfan: Everyone should huddle around the board like girls clung to Fonzie.
bigbadsteve: former
TheKeck: I like not having to be close together, but I like those kinds of games better.
Neil Thomson: Close together - I'm a touchy\feely kind of guy
GameMeister: Close -- Talisman, Arkham Horror, Rise and Fall, etc.
toadsoup: close, that way you can keep an eye on everyone. =P
matthan: around a board. I like to card count.
zennoshinjou: board
DHEK: The first one, of course. I don't see how the second one is a good way to even play boardgames.
el_mpfive: dependent on the stink factor
martybjsg: Close together.
POvidiusNaso: Close together.
Beyak: around a board
Kev11sky: sit close together
vampywife: both are nice, but boardgames are typically restricted to sitting around the board.
fellonmyhead: Closer....CLO-SER!
Nikoms: Advantages to both - depends on the curcumstances
Leo-T: depends on the game
Ebon Wendigo: Both, depends on the game
spartax: board
tbraut: sit close
heatherjberg: get away, personal space is nice when everyone is ripe
brainrob: Around the board
jasta6: doesn't matter..........
Zaar: around the board
WatchmanX2000: boardgames
dwarf: Around the board.
hacksword: I prefer games that force players to make a human pyramid on the surface of the sun.
Loquutus: Depends on the game.
dietevil: Around the board
Karlsen: If it is a board game, close together
cerulean: Hm....is there a non-party game that can be played in multiple rooms at once? I can think of a few.
RonStock: All games should have a core and players surronding it.
Bandit Ripshawd: Close together. Prefer games with a board or central mechanism.
javelin98: Close together.
mattmoss: Around a board...
cln777: around the board
djlg: Doesn't bother me as long as we're actually in the same room.
e.c.r.: don't enjoy games
Randy Cox: Phil, examples include murder/mystery games, just about any RPG, Times to Remember, Smarty Party, What Were You Thinking, other party games. And you can do it with some traditional board games like Diamant (very easily done) or Adel Verpflichtet (just hold up the card you're playing and have someone man the board). I'm sure there are other examples I could come up with.
jttm: Doesn't matter
Belash: around board
CDRodeffer: Over the board.
Lord_Prussian: Well, the idea of sitting wherever you like is a good one, but most of the games I enjoy require a board or playing around a table.
CortexBomb: I don't care for party games
Spielfreak: Can you give examples of the latter? I think every game I own falls under the former definition.
puffinge: together, even for most party games
sos1: around the board
skelebone: I mostly sit together at a table. Games that I can think of where people are more spread out are party games, which aren't really my thing.
chaddyboy_2000: Together.
