¿Question #4338?
Randy Cox: When you tie your shoes, does the string in your lefth hand circle over or under the string in your right hand? Or does the right-hand string do the circling (and in which direction)?
TheGrimReeple: No. I haven't replaced my shoelaces with string. Also, it's all one lace. Also also, I hardly ever wear shoes with laces. Also also also, I don't have a "lefth" hand.
Woelf: I don't pay attention that that. I just tie them and move on.
TrojanDan: left hand goes over
Hrusk: under
DasViktor: Leftie, therefore left string circles, and not once but twice. Try it and you'll find your laces don't become untied. Then come back and give me a thumb. :)
ricardofo: The right-hand string do the circling. direction: clockwise
Grimstax: right/clockwise
ZeroZilla: Left hand, counter-clockwise.
aleo09: never noticed
Ludocrazy: Startin at completely uintied, it's left over, then under right
DHEK: I believe it's the right hand one that goes under and the circling. And counter-clockwise.
Benzebub: Under. The right does the circling, over and to the left.
Eric Haas: It depends on which hemisphere I'm in.
monkeyrobot: None of that. I have my own secret technique ans I´m not telling.
Brentoon: I don't beleive in shoe laces
Penguin_Hatcher: if i had my shoes on i would take the time to figure that out.
GrandpaDave: Right, counterclockwise
Tim Synge: I make a loop which I hold between my right thumb and forefinger. What I never noticed until today is that I use my left thumb to form the loop. Looks really weird. Then I take the lace lying to the left in my left hand and circle it around the loop - and the tip of my right forefinger - in a clockwise direction and tuck it through the gap that my right forefinger is filling up to that moment. Then pull both loops tight. I had to go throught the process four times just to be able to answer that question, but I've only got two shoes on.
gurkakrieg: Velcro rulez!
dmomo: I tie my shoes in a totally non-standard way. I guess because I taught myself.
Faerun: Right hand does circling, over the left one, and then under it!
Cromaa: Hmmm...I don't know
falloutfan: Right string. Goes around overhand.
vampywife: the left-hand string circles over/under the right-hand string, i think. honestly, i try to avoid shoes with laces most of the time.
XenoMaster: I tie them with my toes
Musti: It seems I tie my shoe laces in an odd way. They don't circle each other but I pull them through each other
FrozenHoHos: Damn it...you're making me re-tie my shoe...OK. Left hand, counterclockwise, and it's called a LACE.
Shotmagnet: velcro to the rescue again
zoopiglet: Left hand circles over the right.
WatchmanX2000: oh come on, didn't your parents teach you this already?
Peechy: You are truly a master of the dark arts
InfoCynic: right over left, clockwise
brainrob: The latter, widdershins
vetinari7878: Right-hand string circles, clockwise.
ZombyDawg: Right hand, clockwise.
Geosphere: Circle from inside to out - different for each shoe.
arkibet: right over left... but I make two loops instead of one. Makes a tighter knot.
djlg: Over
skrutsch: right hand string circles, clockwise
jttm: Too confusing. I use the bunny-ears thing.
skelebone: I have velcro on my shoes.
CortexBomb: The left string circles, though I rarely tie my main shoes, I just leave them tied...I think my tying prefs might have something to do with my handedness though
Lord_Prussian: I'm not sure that I tie my shoes that way.
chaddyboy_2000: Right hand over.
puffinge: So this is how you passed Erli? left under right.
Spielfreak: The left lace circles the right lace. Y'know, if you're having problems you could always switch to velcro shoes.
CDRodeffer: Right circles counterclockwise.
Randy Cox: I send the left string under the right. When I had an assignment to write up the procedure for a Business Writing class in college, everyone wound up with bows that were turned 90 degrees (not lying across your shoe, but were rather aligned with the length of the foot). The professor asked if I was left-handed, as that often happens. I am not, but the person who taught me to tie my shoes was. Hmmm.
