dietevil: Define "abuse" - the only time I used drugs was on my trip to Amsterdam, and my self-esteem was doing just fine. I wouldn't construe it as abuse though since I haven't touched them since and haven't really missed them either. Personally though I don't consider occasional recreational use of things like pot to be abuse.

Kazin: Drug-abuse isn't "cool". I did a bunch of drugs during a period of my life. I had, and to a certain degree still have, an abysmal self-esteem. That answer your question?

consolewa: I never thought drug abuse was cool. Rather, I found drug use to be... useful. And my self-esteem is a volatile thing. I'm not sure there was a connection. Anyway, the tool was used and discarded when no longer needed.

CDRodeffer: I can't remember a time when drug "abuse" was cool to me. But I have known people who use drugs that aren't legal to use. It doesn't seem to affect their self-esteem.
