¿Question #723?
TomVasel: Upcoming Star Wars movie, can it redeem the franchise?

ocdspectrum: Disney plus will redeem it,
pricero1: Is William Shatner in it?
Woelf: No redemption needed. People just need to stop whining and being miserable shits when a movie doesn't turn out precisely the way they want. /// Besides, even if an upcoming movie (Solo, IX, or whatever) is *objectively* the greatest Star Wars movie ever created, there will STILL be tons of people bitching and whining about it.
Dobster: No, to my undying sorrow
BOBBYCAN: Ha! Ewoks.
DuelistofAges: We can hope... If not we can categorize it with the prequels, "Those didn't happen.
imyourskribe: I have just returned from time travel and I can tell you that no, none of the prequels did Star Wars any favors
asketes: Does it need redeeming? Last I checked movies were just movies. Now sit there and spectate!
postm: Considering how much George Lucas messed up his own work. Sure! Can't get any worse at least.
aleo09: which one
Jatoha: do you know about the disney thing???
Albatros28215: Naw, Tom, it jumped the shark at Endor.
Blott: The problems in the prequels haven't done enough to sour me on the Star Wars universe. I'll always love it.
Ergo Proxy: The franchise doesn't need to be saved!
pwilz: You know, I'm starting to think that we over-rated that stuff.
jessitron: Well maybe, now that what's-his-name is dead. Lucas.
Wabete: no
vandemonium: **}}}}weeping{{{{**
hob69: no
cgund: ..
jbuergel: No.
waza: No
Royalflush: The Franchise didn't need redeeming, and Episode III was great.
ZiggyZambo: I don't think there is one upcoming
jcarvin: I imagine you're referring to Edisode III (they should date these questions). I don't believe it needed to be redeemed, they just needed some good actors (and scripts)
DHEK: Which one are you talking about? If it's any one in the new triology, the old triology is better. And the franchise is still good.
TheArchAngel: one would hope
spamwise: The franchise is doing pretty well as it is.
slagbeast: nope
POvidiusNaso: No frickin' way. (and it didn't)
diehard4life: OMG, I thought we were done with that egomaniacal freaks
Sigisgrim: No, it sucked more than the previous one.
SybotCB: Yes
suncrush: Not a chance.
dkwd: If you feel the franchise needs to be redeemed, then no.
Chrysophylax: Star Wars could only be revitalized by a fresh new director/crew.
JonBen: no
nibuen: NULL POINTER EXCEPTION!
MisterCranky: No, but then most coupons aren't redeemable for cash and only have a face value of 1/20 of a cent, so who knows.
mrspank: Nope.
MaksimSmelchak: No. George Lucas is still involved. Spielburg could greatly improve the franchise.
vetinari7878: No way.
zoopiglet: Nothing can redeem it, and I'm a pretty big SW geek.
Continental Drift: Nope.
RyanMC: nope
Chris Page: No, it's far too late for that.
fanboy: too late
bigbadsteve: i thought it was good
skrutsch: it didn't
brainrob: No
Felicity: probably not
LemonyFresh: No
SenorOcho: It did not.
scriptorum: These questions need a time limit.
Mark.Watson: It didn't.
davebo: No
javelin98: No, but at least it didn't damage it further.
GI Joe: The franchise needs no redeeming!
GrandpaDave: No
Thedalek: Yes, and did. Still doesn't fix Episode II, though.
Mikebegeta: yes
KineticKill: No, it can only let it go out with dignity
catchnick4: yes
sourwyrm: i thought it was good
CharlieWonka: The franchise is great
Lord_Prussian: It was good and I'm not sure the franchise needed redeeming. Episodes 1 & 2 were just bad and unnecessary imo.
leece: No.
familygaming: The franchise is already good ON THE WHOLE, so I don't know that it needs saving, although I must admit that Episodes 1 & 2 were nothing more than eye-candy and really didn't do much for the franchise. (BTW, Hi Tom!)
Basilius: I think it did. But the first two showed that the series has really only ever been about effects with storyline 2nd. Characters a distant 3rd.
berserkley: it'll come close
reddogfive: Lucas has made his monies I enjoyed the second movie but it is ONLY a movie
erli: I've heard it can.
batman: There's nothing wrong with the franchise except for everyone acting like it's the greatest thing ever.
snoozefest: hope so
Jern: Probably
Nomadik: I hope so.
gnomehome: Probably not
BengalBandit: God, I hope so.
puffinge: The franchise is fine.
2amp: no
Wintergoblin: yes
heli: never
echoota: My best hope is that you could attach Ep3 with 4-6 and ignore the other two, but Lucas has a pattern that doesn't bode well for me.
DJinSD: no
AlorielLelyn: Possibly
Magnus the Blue: In comparison to Episodes I & II, there is still hope!
isolated: This is Lucas's last chance. If he fails this time...he hunt him like an animal.
Cavedog_pdx: I just think it's hilarious that the Enterprise finale is airing on the opening day of Revenge of the Sith.
Jose: Yes. It had better.
Volstag: No.
kennyb: impossible....Jar Jar (shudders)
UhhhClem: Four words: Charlie Brown, Lucy, football.
HBGlover: No, it can't. However, I do believe it will be the best of the prequels.
Johan: I thought Episode 2 already did that
jens_hoppe: I would like to think so, but I ain't holding my breath... :-)
P.O.G.G.: not likely, but we'll see
alfredhw: Does it need redemption?
Nightmare: Never
viogression: From what I've heard, possibly.
rochs77: You know, I have always hated Star Wars with a passion, but I saw the trailer for this next one coming up and it actually looks interesting. I haven't seen the previous two, so I'll probably skip it anyway.
fsumarc: dont know. havent seen the last 2
Blackwind: I doubt it.
GuyHill: Probably not. Will still go see it though
Zambo: Probably not.
threlicus: Yes, it can. But it won't.
Fawkes: Redeem? Ah I get it. Sorry, I think TPM and AotC are just as good as "ANH" and RotJ. TESB is still the best tho. RotS should do the franchise justice.
DangerMouse: I'm in the minority when I say that I don't mind the latest flicks. I figure I've grown up and the SW movies haven't.
redhuntingcap: only if it erases the last two movies from existence somehow.
Ryno8: No, but it could be good still.
dakarp: Boy, I certainly hope so.
djlg: Jabba-the-Hut-sized fat chance.
mrbeankc: Difficult to say. Always in motion is the future.
geberus: yes
chaddyboy_2000: Sure.
BobDodgerBlue: Perhaps
Mosse: A most difficult task it is, yes.
tp_ryhansen: Too late, but it can stand on its own
sumo: Only if it is very, very good.
netfilterz: yes
louiseh: It could, but it won't.
Karlsen: Oh I hope so, I really do.
ScottBecker: Sure.
Eric Haas: No
Aldie: No way.
djflippy: Not a chance, even if it's great. I skipped school to see one of the originals and even hid in the restroom to sneak back for a second showing. After seeing Jar-Jar Binks in action, there is no way I can regain the feeling I had for the early films.
Shakar: Maybe, I'll have to see it.
ValJor: The franchise doesn't need redemption, it is very good the way it is. As for Episode III, I'm really having a bad feeling, I saw the trailer and it gave me the creeps. I know everybody is supposed to die and all that, but boy, that trailer scared me.
Komodo: Maybe.... leaning towards no.
CDRodeffer: It will make money from the rabid fan base, if that's what you're asking.
Denise: Dunno & at this point I don't care, which saddens me as the first three films were brilliant.
Flyspeck23: It might happen. But don't count on it.
Spielfreak: nope.
jttm: Yes
tragicpoet: Yes, it can redeem it for a larger sized popcorn
skelebone: Possibly, but unlikely.
ynnen: Yes. It can. Whether or not it will remains to be seen.
CortexBomb: It doesn't really need to, the first three are fantastic, and nothing can spoil that. I have high hopes that the third one will be quality because of its darker subject matter, but it really comes down to this: can Lucas finally get some quality acting out of his stars? II for instance wouldn't have been bad if the dialogue hadn't been shoddy, and the deliveries worse. Fix those two things and I think III could be quite good
