Randy Cox: Of days when it's raining when you leave work, what percent of those days do you have an umbrella at the ready to make it to your car?

Master Caution: Never. I walk through the rain holding my head up with dignity. Not running like an idiot as if you can dodge the drops. It is just water, not acid death.

Felimid: Depends on how hard it's raining. If it's not raining hard, I might have one in the bag I take to work, but I wouldn't use it. If it's a torrential downpour, I use an umbrella (to protect what I'm carrying; I can always dry off more easily than what I'm carrying can), assuming it'll do any good at all. Some torrential rainstorms are a lesson in umbrella-use futility. You'll get drenched from head-to-foot no matter what.

I prefer to walk to my car sans umbrella, but make it a point to walk with my head held high (eschewing the more-traditional rain hunching) and trying to blink as little as possible. I think of it as a matter of pride, and an effort to enjoy the weather we're having, not pine for something different. Of course, there are some really cold rains in Ohio, so I don't always get my druthers in this regard.
